The concept of Is it Art is to create an on-line global community art gallery website promoting the belief that everyone can be creative, and to raise awareness of Homepagism - where homepages are art. Is it Art believes that one method in creating homepages as pieces of art is to utilize the collective creativity of the World Wide Web

Is it Art's homepage would contain a mosaic of 10,000 digital photos of art work(s) that when viewed as a 'one piece' would be seen as a single or unified image of art. Is it Art will be on-line for four years and hopes to create a number of homepages, which will then be printed into a book, documenting this project, and then go on a world wide travelling exhibition All the money obtained from the sale of the book and the exhibition would go to the charitable foundation UNESCO. By participating in this project you have a say in how the art work develops using your free and or purchased squares(s) and content as your palette,

One assessment for this site will be if this project and its contents will be viewed as Art. Is it Art acknowledges that there are websites on the web presently that have created digital art or homepage art. However, they did so from different perspectives, and as of yet, no one has attempted to classify this new art form as Homepagism. Is it Art also believes no one has attempted to utilize the global web community as an artistic collective body in an effort to create a work of art together.

What makes the concept of Is it Art even more unique and original from other on-line art galleries, is the opportunity to auction your square on eBay to the highest bidder, and make more money. Imagine the interest in Is it Art when 'hits' to the site becomes so high, that by the time the first homepage is completed, the demand to obtain free squares and or buy a square(s) would push the value of your square(s) higher than what you got for free and or bought the squares for or what you sold your art work.
